Step 3: Complete OvSynch Tasks

Once your dairy has active OvSynch protocols with animals enrolled, PULSE adds animals that require treatments in a daily Open Tasks worklist. Expand the topics below to access your worklist and process tasks:

You may decide to filter your Open Tasks lists for specific treatments or other criteria to simplify and streamline the administration of OvSynch tasks. You can also print and save your lists for reference while treating animals or for record keeping purposes.

Select DairyComp > Worklists > Open Worklists and click the Open Tasks list to open it. Use the available options to filter, print, and export: 

  • Click Filters for options to limit which tasks are shown.
  • Click Print to send your Open Tasks to the printer. If you applied filters, the list will print with the filters applied.
  • Click Export to save the list as PDF or CSV. If you applied filters, the list will save with the filters applied.

Follow the steps below to process Open Tasks from a web browser:

  1. Select DairyComp > Worklists > Open Worklists and click the Open Tasks list to open it: 

  2. Use the TODO tab to view animals that have outstanding OvSynch tasks. 
  3. Click an animal to view outstanding tasks in a side panel and then click the Options button to set the task to Complete or Skip.

    You can also Complete or Skip tasks directly from the TODO tab: 

    When you mark a task Complete, it is automatically updated in the event side panel as Completed, and the task moves to the DONE tab in your Open Tasks list.

    You have the option to skip treatments that are not set to Required in your protocol setup. Reasons for skipping a task include signs of illness or a change in breeding plans for that animal based on other events. Skipping a task marks it as Skipped in the event side panel. A skipped task is considered Done and it moves from the TODO tab to the DONE tab.

  4. If you make a mistake, click the Options button and select Undo. The task moves from DONE back to the TODO tab.

Follow the steps below to process Open Tasks from the mobile app:

  1. Tap Lists and then the Refresh Lists button to make sure you have the latest worklists.
  2. Tap the Open Tasks worklist and begin processing animals: 
    1. Verify that your scanner is connected, and begin scanning animals.
    2. If a scanned animal requires treatment, an audible cue, Check Task, plays and the task details are shown:

    1. Tap a pen to begin processing animals.
    2. Tap an animal to view its tasks.
  3. As you treat animals in the list, mark the tasks as Complete. If necessary, Skip tasks.

    When you mark a task Complete from the mobile app, the task moves to the DONE tab in your Open Tasks list.

    Open Tasks lists work a little differently than your standard mobile worklists, which require you to Process Changes before the updates are sent to PULSE. See Learn More about Open Tasks Lists for more information.

If an animal needs to be disenrolled from an OvSynch protocol, open the animal's event side panel from the CowCard or Open Tasks list. Then click Cancel All Open Tasks:
