Manage Dairy Protocols

Only users who are assigned to a Role with Herd Write permissions can use this feature. See Edit User Permissions and Manage Roles for more information.

The Dairy Protocols tab includes the protocols you saved from the Gallery tab, as well as any other custom protocols you created using Protocol Builder:

Follow the guidelines below for more information on managing your Dairy Protocols: 

The Gallery tab includes several standard pre-defined protocols your dairy may choose to use:

Click Task List to view the protocol details by day.

Go to the Protocols Gallery tab to see if the protocol you need is available. If it is, click Use Protocol to begin customizing it. If you need to define a completely custom protocol, click Build Protocol to build it:

Tip: Using a pre-defined protocol as a starting point will save you time, as it includes the default enrollment criteria and standard series of treatments according to the expected timeline. You can still customize the timing of treatments or make other adjustments if you'd like!

After the protocol is added to your Dairy Protocols tab, you can begin to Enroll Animals:

If you'd like to save time and add a protocol similar to an existing one, go to your Dairy Protocols and use the copy button to begin customizing the protocol: 

If your dairy is no longer using a protocol, you can deactivate it using the protocol side panel. This makes it unavailable for selection for new OvSynch events, but allows animals currently enrolled to complete the protocol.

Click the Active Protocol toggle to deactivate it: 

Inactive protocols are not included in your Dairy Protocols.
