Disposal Codes

To edit the settings for this feature, your VAS PULSE Platform user account must be assigned to a Role with Herd Configuration permissions.

Disposal codes are used to describe the different types of disposal events. Whenever a disposal event is entered, the user assigns a disposal code to it. You can view all the current disposal codes from the Disposal Codes page. You can also update and add new disposal codes from this page, provided you have the right permissions.

IMPORTANT: Use caution when changing disposal codes, as some are commonly used in the dairy industry and linked to processing centers that computerize dairy data.

You can find this feature under the DairyComp, Settings menu. Use the Filter by field to filter the list by code number or description:

To update the description of an existing disposal code, click on the applicable code in the list. A side panel appears in which you can make your changes:

Enter the new description for the disposal code in the field provided, then click Save. Note that only the description can be changed; you cannot change the code number itself.

  1. Click the Add New Disposal Code button at the top of the page to open a window for creating a new disposal code:

  2. Enter a new value in the Code field.

    This value is mandatory and must be unique (i.e., not currently in use). Also, this value must be a number.

  3. In the Description field, enter a description of the new disposal code.

    This field is optional.

  4. Click Save.

    Your new disposal code now appears in the list.

  1. Select the applicable disposal code from the list to open its side panel.
  2. In the side panel, click Delete.
  3. In the confirmation window that appears, click Yes.

    A message appears at the bottom of the page indicating that the disposal code has been deleted.
