Remove Animals or Mark as Sold/Died
Permissions Required to Use this Feature
Only users who are assigned to a Role with Herd Write permissions can use this feature. If your account only has Herd Read permissions, you will not be able to use this feature. See Edit User Permissions and Manage Roles for more information.

Remove Animal
Follow these steps to remove an animal from the herd:
- Click the the Options button on the CowCard, and then select Remove Animal.
The system prompts you to confirm the removal of animal:
- Verify the animal ID Identifier at the top of the prompt, and then click Remove to proceed.
The system displays a message at the bottom of the page indicating that the animal has been removed successfully from the herd.
Mark as Sold or Died
Follow these steps to mark an animal as sold or died:
- Click the the Options button on the animal's CowCard, and then select Mark as Sold/Died.
The system prompts you to mark the animal as sold or died:
- Select Animal Sold or Animal Died, and then enter the following information:
- Disposal Code: A code provided by the system that describes the disposal event. See Disposal Codes to learn more.
- Remark: Brief, additional information about the transaction. You can enter up to 16 characters in this field.
- Date: The date of the transaction. This field defaults to today's date, but you can change it to any other date.
- Click Confirm to complete the transaction.
The system displays a message at the bottom of the screen confirming that the animal has been marked as sold or died. Additionally, the Reproduction status item on the animal's CowCard changes to indicate SLD/DIE (sold/died).
