smaXtec internal sensors track animal activity and temperature, and the premium model, pH Plus, also tracks the rumen pH. The sensors, known as boluses, provide you with timely and precise information regarding pending heat and calving events based on animal activity levels. Consistently tracking animal temperatures and rumen pH allow for an earlier detection and more proactive treatment of a variety of diseases, including infections, heat-related illnesses, and ruminal acidosis Sub-acute ruminal acidosis (SARA) is a digestive disorder caused by low rumen pH levels (below 5.6) and diets high in starch and low in fiber. Dairy cows experiencing SARA often do not exhibit any obvious symptoms, though some may have mild diarrhea, reduced appetite, foamy feces, and reduced rumination (cud-chewing).. The GENEX DairySuite™ is a precision genetics tool that, through your GENEX consultant, provides customized genetic planning, breeding scenario development, herd inventory forecasts, mating and more. DairySuite is part of the GENEX Herd Tech Line, focused on new and evolving digital solutions that will bring out the best in your dairy for generations. Calf Management
Förster-Technik provides a variety of calf-rearing tools and applications focused on feeding and calf growth, with a philosophy that optimally-raised calves are your future healthy and high-producing dairy cows. Förster-Technik's PULSE Platform integration allows for VAS calf data, including FRESH event details and sire and dam parentage, to be shared with Förster-Technik's system.
The PULSE Platform also offers four unique Förster-Technik data-driven widgets to track and display the following information:
- Calf Rearing Characteristics, including calf data such as birth date, projected wean date, parentage, weight, and feeding details
- Visits in the Last 2 Days, including details for each individual feeding and how it compares to the calf's entitlement, or milk allowance
- Drinking Behavior, which shows the volume of milk consumed per day
- Drinking Speed, which shows how quickly the milk was consumed
Health Monitoring
All4hooves's lame and trim events are automatically posted to animals' CowCards in the VAS PULSE Platform and sent to DC305 DairyComp305 - VAS Dairy Management Software for DairyComp Unlimited customers.
CattleEye turns your basic security camera into a powerful identification and monitoring tool that checks for lameness when your animals enter or leave the parlor. These measurements provide valuable insights into the health of each animal, and are shared on your animals' CowCards in the VAS PULSE Platform after each parlor visit. You can also use custom CattleEye items to generate worklists that allow you and your hoof trimmer to efficiently identify and treat lame animals.
VAS's KetoMonitor® is a comprehensive management tool that combines laboratory analysis and individual cow data, collected weekly or on the monthly test day, to provide producers with an estimate of a herd’s monthly ketosis prevalence, and identifying when blood testing or therapeutic treatments should be implemented. This cost-effective management tool will help curb the costly impacts of ketosis.
The KetoMonitor widget allows you to display ketosis test data from your AgSource integration directly in your Dairy Dashboard in the VAS PULSE Platform.
Herd Analytics
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Dairy Brain is a diverse set of analysis tools that leverage integration of data from multiple farm systems in order to provide insights to help optimize dairy management practices. Dairy Brain's one-directional integration with the PULSE Platform allows VAS animal and event data to be shared with the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Dairy Brain suite of tools for data collection and analysis.
Medicine Management
MicroTechnologies’ Cubex is a wireless inventory system for animal health products that simplifies the management of on-hand inventory and automates the reordering and receiving of supplies. The Micro Technologies Cubex Inventory widget allows you to display drug inventory data from your Cubex integration directly in your VAS PULSE Platform Dairy Dashboard, including key VAS animal events, such as diagnoses and treatment protocols.
Milk Quality & Processing
California Dairies, Inc. provides milk plant data for participating dairy producers. The VAS PULSE Platform Dairy Dashboard widgets display delivery details and bacteria data for the last 14 days, including the following details:
- Amount of milk delivered
- Milk composition details, including fat and protein percentages

If your dairy is configured to integrate with a VAS PULSE Platform Partner, the CowCard Partners tab or a custom dashboard widget displays your associated animal data. Or, if the integration is one-directional (pulling VAS data only), then PULSE Platform data is available in the partner's system.
